Let me just lay out the facts as I see them. Remember when Time Magazine printed the controversial cover of OJ Simpson when he was arrested? Just as a comparison I have posted his actual arrest photo and the cover run by Time.

As you can see, OJ was darkened and looks more menacing on the Time cover. There were lots of excuses made at the time as to why the cover turned out the way it did however quite a number of people felt the darkened cover was done to perpetuate the image of the evil black man.

Just a few moments before I posted this article on line, I saw the tweets about how Zimmerman was going to be charged in the Trayvon Martin case. I went to the Fox News website and was hit with an image of Zimmerman and Martin. Yes, the Martin photo has been darkened for no other reason than to make him look more menacing. The hoodie picture of Martin has been seen a lot of places, so since it has been darkened, in my mind it can only be for one reason. As much as those folks over at Fox News claim other people are making this about race, they make this obvious, controversial and insensitive (I'm going to use the nice word) decision to alter the picture. They want to perpetuate the myth that Trayvon brought this on himself because he was an evil black teenager in a hoodie that beat down an innocent man who was trying to protect himself. Fox News is communicating, with the darkening of the photo, that Trayvon was a thug that deserved to be shot. That is shameful and it should be exposed for what it is.

Update: After I posted this article, which was 30 minutes after the prosecutor formally charged Zimmerman in the case, I was about to go about life when I foolishly decided to head back to Fox News. They posted another headline and another picture of Trayvon Martin.
