I don’t think I will ever be able to wrap my brain around the concept of free thinking. I understand it, but the logic people display never makes much sense to me. In some cultures, it’s considered honorable to strap a bomb to yourself and explode it in the middle of your ‘enemies.’ For doing this you are supposed to be rewarded in paradise with a certain number of virgins. You have people here who will kill doctors who perform abortions to protect the rights of the unborn. They feel this is a duty bestowed upon them from a higher source. Some would pay thousands of dollars for special water for their pets but would deny spending a little money to help educate students. People who have no chance of ever becoming a millionaire will fight to allow tax cuts for billionaires, yet to pay for services would allow public workers to suffer.

For months I have seen contradictory ebbs in the public consciousness. People would rather be told what to do by people who don’t have their best interest at heart rather than rationally investigate what is being spoon fed to them. They would rather believe the fevered fantasies and lies of charlatans and psychotics rather than think for themselves.

So let’s get one simple thing off the table. We do not live in a comic book or science fiction film. Yes, someone like me is pointing this out. I say this to bring home the point Obama isn’t a Manchurian candidate, he is not the evil chosen one and he is not a communist plant. If some faceless organization were to create some intricate plan that spans 40 years to plant their operative in the White House to take down America, what in heaven’s name would possess them to think a black man would be the best choice? The history of the world was not written by Frank Herbert. This is not Dune with the Bene Gesserit having some master genetic program to conjure up the Kwisatz Haderach.

If some unseen force was working to overthrow the government with a black President, it would mean they were so omnipresent that they could predict the change in social issues from the 1960s and that by 2006 the racial climate had changed so much a mixed race Hawaiian born who spent some time in Indonesia could be elected President. They came up with this grand plan when the United States was leery that a Catholic candidate would answer to the Pope and not to the United States.

If indeed Obama is the product of such Machiavellian manipulation then why fight the inevitable? Obviously we are looking at forces that are so omnipotent we have no defense against them. These folks were able to use the most unlikely of candidates and got him elected in the climate we have now and they set this up at least 50 years earlier when the concept of a black mayor was out of the realm of plausible. Furthermore, if you were going to use a black man to destroy the United States, especially a black man who has the credentials of Sidney Poitier in Guess Whose Coming to Dinner, why mess up the equation by making him biracial and have him born in Hawaii?

I can hear the voices talk about the birth certificate. Really? Again, not thinking. While it could be said by having questions about the birth certificate could allow those who question to look foolish, what would be the point? If you have to believe it then you have to think the entities that are pulling this ruse are so omnipotent we can’t fight them.

That's the problem with the birthers and other conspiracy thinkers about the President. For it all to work you have to think about a plan that has been in development for decades if not centuries. It would mean secrecy on the highest level, yet the people who supposedly are exposing the 'truth' never seem to have their facts hammered down. Just the other day I heard a video of Professor Griff, formerly of Public Enemy, weave a conspiracy theory that was so elaborate, so intricate in its design it bordered on Morrisonism. Hit with a question he had an answer that, in his head, made perfect sense.

Is he crazy? I don't know. On the surface possibly, but I know many people would listen to what he said and would count him off as crazy off the bat. Now, what get's me, what get's the hairs on the back of my head up, is that in the audience he was talking to, many people agreed with him, just like I have heard people give their theories about global conspiracies and yet, the alien, not a citizen, Muslin, communist, Kwisatz Haderach Obama. People can focus their minds on wild ranging conspiracies but can't see how corporations are manipulating the laws to their own gains. They can claim to be outraged by laws being passed, such as the anti-immigration law in Arizona, yet will elect the same people into office who wrote the law. People can be so upset with the previous Administration, yet when they kick them out of office can be so naïve as to how government works they are wiling to stay home allowing the same people they threw out of office back in.

Yes, I’m mad. Yes I’m tired of the foolishness. I'm tired of hearing people moan about phantom menaces and ignoring true villains. Yes I’m going to continue venting, which is better than the alternative.
