My recent customer service experience at stores in my area.

Fry’s Electronics at 2300 W Baseline Rd in Tempe, AZ had exceptional customer service on 12/14/2013. I went there to window shop and there were a good number of people in the store. It wasn’t the mad frenzy I have seen in Christmas’ past, but it was still full. I had three sales people approach me in three separate areas of the store and while in those areas I didn’t get a repeat request for assistance. I like that. Sometimes I just want to shop and I don’t want to be pestered by sales associates. I suspect the crowds probably kept the sales people occupied enough. The line out of the store was fast, even though it was long. When I was ready to purchase my items I was out of there in less than five minutes. Good job Fry’s Electronics.

Target at 1230 S Longmore Av in Mesa, AZ had very bad service on 12/15/2013. A lot of customers were in the store but only 4 registers were open at the time I was ready to leave. The registers had at least 5 people with a good number of them having loaded carts. I took items back two times within 10 minutes before I had the patience enough to check out my items. I put back about $20 worth of things. I decided to complain to the guest services and was told by the line manager that he was helping out a customer and didn’t notice the line. He apologized but it seemed hollow to me, much like his explanation. I saw workers in other parts of the store and they were avoiding the front lines in my opinion. I’ve seen the looks in their eyes when I worked retail.
