Congress is working late to get a bill passed for defense so they can get back to health care. It seems this bill has a lot of pork in it, filled with options the Pentagon doesn't want. From what the reports say most of the overspending has to do with pet projects for certain districts.

Should we even bother listening to politicians? They complain about wasteful spending, and here is a situation where the agency getting the money says there is waste in the bill, yet Congress wants to get the bill through with the bloat. These are the same people who say universal health care will cost too much while people like me have no insurance and can't get covered. I guess people like me should take the advice of a talk show guy I heard. He said people like me shouldn't complain because we have health care just not health insurance. He said hospitals have to help us no matter what, just like the illegal aliens. (yes even in health care talk you can count on right-wing talk shows to get immigration put in) All we are whining about is paying for extra stuff.

It burns me to remember what he said and then watching politicians voting to put extra money in something the recipient doesn't want.

It's so bad you can't blame this on one party. Both sides line their pockets in a huge way. It's no wonder some folks are willing to throw all the bums out.
