I guess the poor President can’t do anything right. First, he’s set to give a speech to kids on Tuesday to stay in school and there are parents, fueled by the drunken logic of FoxNews and conservative talk show hosts, who think the talk will be some indoctrination ritual that will turn their kids into something out of Children of the Damned. On Wednesday the President is scheduled to give a prime time address to Congress and Fox Television has decided not to show the speech, opting to show “So You Think You Can Dance.”

Our last President rarely spoke to the public and there was a demand for more prime time press conferences and speeches. This President, with the problems of the economy, health care and other issues, is trying to speak to the public and is being told the networks, not just Fox, are growing tired of interrupting their stellar programming to cover his events.

I don’t think it can be hammered enough that some of the backlash is payback. There were many who didn’t like the last President George Bush and would take every opportunity to attack him. FoxNews grew to a powerhouse in cable news because it was the only outlet conservatives felt they could get their views out, which is how their insane fair and balanced moniker came about. It wasn’t because they were fair and balanced with rational opposing views debating on their network. They called themselves fair and balanced because they offered an exclusive conservative view they thought was missing from the other cable stations.

I have mentioned it in other articles and will continue to do so; President Obama is being attacked by the right in ways that are detrimental at best and undemocratic at worse. He has been labeled as a sleeper agent for foreign, Islamic or other means. The birther movement, despite evidence to the contrary, act like World Trade Center conspirators who insist he isn’t a citizen. Way back during the election, there were articles, now long forgotten, about how there was a significant number of white people who would never acknowledge a black man as President. The information thrown out by birthers and others only work to confirm that this black man was somehow manufactured to become President. The agendas coming up, which would normally be party fights, have turned into tea parties and demonstrators with guns. We are really heading to a fearful possibility of some motivated conspiracy person of taking a shot at the President. The sad thing is if, heaven forbid, that occurs, there will be conservatives who will say it was done by radical liberals to pin the blame on conservatives.

Don’t believe me; there have been reports on FoxNews about liberals causing the violence at town hall meetings, just to make it seems the people in opposition are crazy. There have been Republican Party leaders and elected officials that have outright said this is happening. The sheep believe this. Do you think it would be such a leap for this to be put forth if tragedy hit the President?
