There has been so much junk news in the past week it's been hard to keep a handle on it all. One news service, kind of correctly putting it, said some people are surprised Judge Sotomayor isn't a Supreme Court justice. There was so much press on her with the Republicans falling over themselves sounding like idiots. New news cropped up and it seems like she was elected, by some, but the nomination process hasn't even started.

I love the fact that many old white men were offended by her stating that a Latin woman might have better judgment than a white male. Well, if we look at the precedent I guess we couldn't do worse than with the experience of any minority. It was hilarious as those opposed to her tried to come up with dirt against her only enhanced her standing. As an example, when she said her experience would help her in decisions the right pundits jumped all over her, forgetting that the last two Supreme Court judges, both nominated by the Republican President, talked about how their immigrant experience helped them in decisions.

It's a losing battle for the Republicans to fight her nomination, because her presentation was done great. An up by the bootstraps Latina woman making it in a man's world. A woman who lived in an underprivileged section of New York. A woman who lost her father at an early age. In some respects she had the school pedigree of Obama because she succeeded not because she was Hispanic but because she deserved it. It is the minority dream the right wing always talks about but rarely acknowledges, unless of course the person turns out to be a conservative like them.

The supposed head of the RNC stated last week that white men have to watch out if she gets elected to the court. He has been asked again and again to clarify his words, and each time he digs a deeper hole for himself. This man, a black man, has the nerve to with one side of his mouth to say white men should be afraid of her then with the other side said we should wait to see how she's going to be on the bench. You can't have it both ways; claiming she's a threat then saying we will reserve judgment in the same paragraph.

Again showing another reason why more people are leaving the Republican Party.
