The reason why both sides of the political spectrum are hypocrites, as I pointed out in a previous article, is that both sides will hold a blind eye to someone when they support their cause, but will scream bloody murder when they don't. Case in point Tracy Morgan. He said some terrible things about what he would do if his son was a homosexual. He said this at a comedy club, where people paid money to hear him say this. Uinder pressure, he issued an apology, but just now, looking at the Huffington Post, there are three featured posts about his anti-gay comments. His comments raised issues on a number of black websites like The Grio. Comments are abundant, ranging from requesting he get fired, to forgiveness, to the typical 'why do we care.'

Now, maybe because this is in the middle of the issue things might seem all heated up and important, but I remember a few months ago when Tracy Morgan, on TNT during a basketball game interview, said Sarah Palin was good masturbation material. The three that were with him laughed and the TNT network issued an apology for his comments. Right wing pundits felt this was over the line, but instead of being forced to apologize, a few days later at a red carpet event Tracy Morgan reiterated and said Sarah Palin was a great looking MILF.

Again, I could be wrong, but I don't recall editorials in the Huffington Post by liberals asking for him to apologize or to be fired. I do know that on the black sites I did see anything on it the feeling was it was Tracy being Tracy and that he was a comedian and it should be left alone.

This is the thing that causes regular people, the ones that don't have a platform, who don't have a horse in the race, to wonder why the world seems to be so crazy. Like I said, there is hypocrisy on both sides, but for a moment can some people out there, the ones with the megaphones and the platforms, can you stop being so partisan for a moment and look at these incidents from the non-partisan person's POV? I don't know if Morgan should be fired or not, but it seems if he could get away with saying what he did about Palin, it makes sense he would think he could get away with what he said about gays. Not that I'm saying it's right, but in a lot of these situations we give those without self control the rope and the opportunity to hang themselves, then we want to blame them for the trouble. Just this morning I was listening to old Ralphie May routines on YouTube. He doesn't have a big TV contract, but he is relatively well known. What he says in his routine about blacks, Hispanics, Asians and gays would probably get him fired if he had a show. I say probably because when I saw the audience, they laughed. When I saw him talk about black people in a black audience, they laughed. Obviously I'm not using it as an excuse, but if Morgan is going to be asked by some to be fired from his job, why would many other comedians like May be encouraged for their comments? And again I have to go back to Morgan saying something specific about Palin and nothing happening.

I'm not asking for a fight. I'm not defending Morgan at all about what he said. I'm just the guy out here in non-partisan America asking the questions.
