Why every year during the Oscars do we have to hear “What are they wearing?” Does anyone really care? Are you going to go out the next morning and spend thousands of dollars for the dress? If you are, at what occasion will you conceivably wear the clothing? I'm sure the morning news shows will have the infamous buy these clothes for the cheap, where some designer will come on showing how you can have the same look for a lot less money than what the stars paid.

Well, the stars don't pay for the clothes. They wear the stuff as a fashion show, not a fashion statement. They come out and the reporters, following the same boring script, ask, what are you wearing. It was interesting to me that Halle Berry was interviewed and she was asked what she was wearing. She wasn't asked about her statement about the one drop rule, no question about her divorce, no question about the lack of black actors being nominated this year. I honestly don't know if the questions would have been appropriate at the time, but had this not been the Oscars I doubt she would be asked about her clothes and not asked about some of the other questions that have surrounded her in the past few months.

Marisa Tomei showed up on best and worse dressed lists and honestly I don't know if she should be on either list. A lot of other people fell on both lists and there is never any rhyme or reason for something like this. You hear the same words thrown out; elegant, classic and other descriptions that don't really give an answer as to what's good or what's bad. Sure, there are outrageous clothes, like the duck dress Bjork wore, but she is always outrageous in her clothing and she actually got more publicity for the dress.
