Oh for the love of humanity, just admit Jessica Simpson is fat.

Yes America I said it, she’s fat. OK, she may not be look and stare in awe fat, but when someone goes from daisy dukes to granny panties, that’s not something to ignore. The entertainment shows and magazines have jumped all over themselves saying how awful it is for bloggers and some in the press to jump on poor Jessica Simpson because of her weight. They say, in the usual sickeningly lie, say how stating that is sending a bad message to girls, who already have self esteem issues.

Hmm, this coming to same industry who talked about how Rebecca Romain looked fantastic (read thin) after having her child after less than a month. These are the same magazines that a week before touted the amazing diet secrets of the stars and talk about how to work yourself into shape for summer so you can fit into the thin bikini.

Who are the ones really giving young girls self image issues?

It happens time and time again where someone in the edge world will say something those in respectable media might want to say but won’t for fear of not being able to get the exclusive talk with a star. I remember last year when the pictures of Jennifer Love Hewitt came out with her looking a bit chunky in a bikini and she was called on it. Oh, the humanity of the regular press about how bad that was. Even JLH talked about how cruel that was and how you should love yourself for you. Uh huh, so six months later, which she talked about in magazines, she was down in weight and talked about how she worked with a trainer to get back in shape.

It’s not so much I want to blame people for weight. Heaven know I’m not the skinniest pencil in the box, but when I had the heath issue going on last summer, I looked like Matthew Perry did when he was doing drugs on Friends. I was thinner but it was so fast and drastic people thought I was sick. Well, yeah, I was sick but I didn’t know I was sick then and I didn’t even notice the change until I got to a doctor. My weight, despite all efforts, has gone back up yet I’ve not had anyone tell me to my face I’m fat again.

But you know what? I don’t make money being thin. I don’t get interviewed in magazines being an actual or implied role model for fitness, sexiness or anything. In the words of many journalists, I’m just a smuck in my living room, in my underwear, being a blowhard hoping folks will listen to me. I didn’t build a career on being sexy. While I can understand the hurt feelings of Jessica Simpson, she is looking fat in the photos. Journalists commenting on the story, who feel others are cruel, should take a look at their own publications when the next diet trend comes out. They may want to take the high road, but deep down they promote thin and from where she was to where those photos show her, Jessica Simpson is a long way from her thin self.
